Pizza Unicorn Continued...

What's happening in Pizza Unicorn

Students are becoming quite creative with the role of the chef, they are making specials of the day, salads, looking in the recipe book for ideas and much more!  Doesn't the salad look delicious?

The customers have been enjoying the new placemats that have been added.  The students and educators brainstormed ideas about things the customers could do while waiting for their pizza. We noticed that the pizza sometimes took a while and customers would leave the restaurant without eating or paying for their pizza.

Inspector checklist & glasses

Health and Safety has arrived! We have various Inspectors come by to ensure that everyone who eats at Pizza Unicorn will happily come back for more.  We discussed how real restaurants have to have a green "pass" sign to be able to be open for business.  If there is a red "fail" sign, the restaurant must close until fixes all the problems.

Challenge: If you go to a restaurant with your child, look for and take a picture of the sign from Health and Safety and bring it to school.

Reflection

Pizza Unicorn has brought in many new customers (including Bonica & Serena... our class puppets) since adding the new props, we've discussed many aspects of the culture of going to restaurants and it is evident that the students have a lot of knowledge to offer.  I wonder if the inspectors will close the restaurant this week?
