| As a class, we brainstormed different ideas to help the JK families feel welcome. |
We took the opportunity to do some authentic writing to help prepare our classroom for our visitors. It is sometimes difficult not to edit some ideas that are shared. For example: when one learner suggested that we build a castle we prompted him to explain how that might make the families feel welcome. He said that castles are beautiful and that the families would really like to look at beautiful things. How could you argue with that?

| Look closely... they used yarn and marker lids hanging from the lanterns! |
Once we had come up with the ideas for the visit, we then asked if any of the learners would be interested in helping us. Each learner who proposed an idea became the leader of a team.

We hope that our JK families have an enjoyable visit and will come and visit again soon!!!
